The rugs that come to us from Hoover's golf and lake subdivisions are often the formal ones: a wool Oriental under the dining table in Riverchase or Greystone, a hand-knotted piece in the study, a long runner down the hall of a two-story house in Blackridge, Lake Wilborn or Ross Bridge. These rugs are washed, never scrubbed where they lie.
Every rug is dusted first, so the grit that has worked down into the foundation comes out dry. Then the wash is matched to the fiber. Wool is washed cool and rinsed until the water runs clear, so it never felts or shrinks. Silk and viscose get very little water and no scrubbing. Cotton and jute get a gentle wash and a quick, even dry so they never brown. Synthetic family-room rugs can take a harder wash and come back looking new.
The fringe gets its own wash and comes home white. A runner's tread lines are worked on their own. Pet accidents show up under the UV light at the door, and the wash carries the salts up out of the foundation, the only place they ever were. It comes back dry and is laid down the way it was. A runner tacked to the treads is carpet, so say so when you book and we bring the carpet equipment on the same visit.
We're moving out of a Hoover rental. Could the rugs go straight to the new address after the wash?
Yes. Moving pickups are among the most common ones we make: nearly three in ten Hoover homes are rented, so moving day comes around often. We collect the rugs at the old address, wash them while you move, and deliver them to the new one, rolled and dry, usually within five to seven business days.
