One rug, or a houseful
One rug is a pickup. You do not need a houseful.
Some of the calls we get from Gardendale are for a single rug. Somebody has moved from a big house into a patio home or a townhome near the civic center, kept the one rug that mattered, and wants it washed properly before it goes down in the smaller living room. That is a normal pickup. The technician comes for one rug the same way as for six, and the price covers that rug and nothing else.

Olive Road or Mary Buckelew Parkway and works the town from there: the subdivisions along Main Street and Decatur Highway, Longwood, Magnolia Ridge, Dogwood Bend, Oak Summit, Pinemeadow and Woodridge, the newer streets off Fieldstown Road and Shady Grove Road, and Castle Pines at the end of its roundabout road.
Mount Olive is on the same run, bigger lots and all. If your road is one the map app has not caught up with, give the office a landmark, Celebration Park, Bill Noble Park or the civic center, and the technician takes it from there.

A rug you have kept for a lifetime is washed like one
The wool and Oriental rugs that come out of Gardendale's established streets have usually never been washed, only vacuumed and turned. The dusting is where that shows: dry soil falls out of the foundation that no vacuum ever reached. Then the wash is matched to wool, cool and thorough, with a full rinse, and the rug is dried flat so it keeps its shape. Dyes are tested at your door first, and the fringe gets washed separately so it returns the right color.
A stair runner or a playroom rug from the Fieldstown Road side is usually synthetic and gets the opposite treatment: a hard wash and a strong rinse that take out everything a family puts into a rug, then a complete dry.

I downsized to a townhome near the civic center and kept one rug. Is one rug enough for a pickup?
One is enough. A single rug from a patio home or a townhome is a normal booking, and the technician comes for it the same way as for a houseful: unrolled, inspected, measured, priced on paper, then off to the plant and back in the usual 5 to 7 business days. Every booking carries a minimum, which is written down with the rest of the price at your door, so you know the figure before the rug leaves.
I am downsizing and have more rugs than rooms. Can you wash and store some?
Yes. The rugs you are keeping are washed at the plant, dried completely, wrapped and held until you have a floor for them, on terms put in writing before they go. The ones going to a family member can be washed and delivered straight to that address, not to yours. Tell the technician at pickup which rugs are going where, and each one is priced on its own line.
I am in a patio home now and cannot move the sofa. Will you move it to get the rug out?
Yes. The technician moves the furniture off the rug, inspects and measures it where it lies, rolls it and carries it out, and at delivery unrolls it where it belongs and puts the furniture back. Leave the rug down rather than rolling it yourself; it is easier to look at flat, and the technician would rather do the lifting. A piano, a packed bookcase or a bed frame full of drawers is worth a mention when you book.
The kids spilled on the playroom rug the week before pickup. What should I do?
Blot it, do not scrub it, and do not reach for a store spot cleaner. Press a dry white towel into the spill until nothing more comes up, then leave it. Scrubbing pushes the spill into the base of the rug and roughs up the pile, and many spot cleaners leave a residue that sets the stain or bleaches a ring that cannot be undone. Point the spot out to the technician at pickup; a fresh spill that has only been blotted almost always washes out at the plant.
