Hard floors, one big rug
In a house with no carpet, the rug does all the work
The newer homes in Chelsea Park and the subdivisions off US-280 mostly run luxury vinyl plank or hardwood through the main floor, which means the living-room rug is the only soft thing between the back door and the kitchen. Every crumb, every muddy paw and every juice cup lands on it.
The place to clean a rug like that is not the living room. The grit is in the foundation under the pile, and the only way to get it out is to dust the rug dry and then wash it through, rinse it through and dry it through, and that full wash happens at our plant.
So we come and get it. At the door the rug is laid out flat and read: fiber, dye, weave, the spots that are soil and the spots that are something else. Its square footage becomes a price on paper while you stand there, it leaves only after you approve, and it is back on the floor, usually within 5 to 7 business days, before you pay.

Upstairs, while the rug is out
The rug goes to the plant, the rest is done where it is
Upstairs is usually carpet, and the technician can clean it on the pickup visit: bedrooms, the playroom, the stairs, plus the sofa and the mattresses. Carpet gets the low-moisture treatment: a small, measured dose of solution breaks the soil loose, absorbent pads carry it off, and the floor is walkable in about an hour with nothing sticky left to attract the next mess. Non-toxic, and safe around kids and pets. Upholstery is cleaned by its care code.
Rugs with a pet accident get the pet treatment at the plant, where the urine salts are washed out of the foundation. The guarantee on that treatment is 100% pet odor removal: if that rug ever smells again, it is re-treated at no charge.
Most of these rugs are synthetic, and the cleaning on average lands somewhere between one and two dollars a square foot. A wool or silk rug is washed more gently, at the same rate. Whatever the rug, the booking is never under $99, and the invoice matches the figure you watched being written.

Businesses on the Chelsea side of 280 get the same stop. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM, and the city has no travel fee anywhere in it.

Rugs from a house like this are mostly synthetic, which is good news: polypropylene and nylon put up with a hard wash and come back close to new. The dusting comes first, with the rug dry, so the grit leaves as grit. Then the wash, a full rinse so nothing sticky stays in the pile, and a drying that finishes before any rolling starts.
A wool rug in the dining room gets cool water and a flat dry, so it holds its shape. Cotton and jute are washed light and dried fast. Silk and viscose get the least water and no scrubbing. Fringe is cleaned on its own. Every dye is tested at your door before any of this starts, and anything that will fade without disappearing is named then, not at delivery.

Our new build has hard floors and one big rug. Can that one rug be picked up on its own?
Yes. One rug is a normal pickup, and a big living-room rug is the most common one we collect. The technician opens it out where it lies, identifies the fiber, checks the dye for bleeding, measures it and hands you the figure on paper; it leaves only after you approve. It comes back dusted, washed, rinsed and dried through, usually within 5 to 7 business days, and you pay then.
The rug sits on luxury vinyl plank. Will anything on the back of it mark the floor when it comes home?
No. The rinse at the plant takes the cleaning solution out of the rug completely, back and front, so nothing sticky or damp goes down on your floor. The rug is dried to the backing before it is rolled, and it is unrolled flat at delivery with the furniture set back on it. If you want a protective treatment on the pile for the next spill, ask at pickup.
Does a rug from a horse property need something different from a town rug?
Not a different wash, just a thorough one. Barn grit and dog hair are dry soil, and the first step at the plant is to dust them out of the rug's foundation before any water touches it. The one thing that changes the job is urine: if an animal has marked the rug, a UV light at pickup shows it and the pet treatment is added, with its 100% pet odor removal guarantee.
Is Chelsea Park on the pickup route, or only the 280 side?
