Stays cleaner 3× Longer between cleanings measured against traditional steam cleaning

Ever had a sofa turn sticky a week after a cleaning?

That tacky feeling is detergent the machine couldn't rinse back out. It dries inside the fabric and stays put, collecting dirt from every arm and elbow that rests on the cushion.

✓Nothing sticky left behindOur low-moisture method keeps the fabric only lightly damp and lifts the soil out with the solution, so nothing soapy stays behind to hold dirt.
✓Stays cleaner about 3× longerFrom carpet to upholstery, fabric cleaned our way holds its look about three times longer between visits than fabric given a traditional steam cleaning.
✓No re-soiling a month laterThe dingy arm or seat that reappears a few weeks after a cleaning is almost always residue pulling soil back. Take the residue away and it stops happening.
✓Sit on it the same afternoonLow moisture means the cushion core never gets soaked, so the sofa is dry in about an hour instead of two days of open windows.

More about upholstery & mattress

Reading the fabric first

Four letters decide the method

Every upholstered piece carries a cleaning code from the maker, a letter on a tag under the cushion: W for a water-based clean, S for solvent only, WS for either, X for vacuum only. The letter is the maker telling you what the fabric survives, and it is the first thing the technician looks for. A cotton sofa and a velvet chair can look equally sturdy and need completely different cleans.

So the method is matched to the code, piece by piece. The W sofa gets the low-moisture clean; the S chair gets a dry method; the X piece gets a conversation about what is safe and what is not. That is how a sofa comes back brighter without the shrinking, the rings or the stiff fabric that a one-method-fits-all clean leaves behind.

Cleaned in place

The sofa stays. The rug goes.

Furniture is cleaned where it lives. A sofa does not need a wash and a full dry the way a rug does, and hauling one out the door risks more than the clean is worth, so the technician works on it in place: cushions, arms, back, seat and the skirt the dog leans on. Little water goes in, nothing sticky stays behind, and the piece is dry in about an hour. If a rug is on the floor in front of it, that one gets rolled and taken to the plant on the same visit.

Tag, test, clean

What a furniture visit looks like

The tag and the test

The technician finds the cleaning code, looks at the fabric and the soiling, and tells you plainly what the piece can take. The price goes on paper and you say yes first.

Spots and pet accidents

Marks are pre-treated. A pet accident gets the UV light so the whole spot is found, and the treatment goes in at the source.

The clean

The method the code allows, worked through the whole piece, cushion by cushion. Low moisture for a W or WS fabric.

Nothing left behind

No residue in the fabric to feel stiff or to attract the next round of dirt.

Dry in about an hour

A look over the piece with you before paying, then the air does the rest.

Sofas, chairs, mattresses

Sofas to mattresses, and the chairs in between

Sofas and sectionals

Seat cushions, back cushions, arms and the deck underneath. Every section of a sectional, not just the one that shows.

Armchairs and recliners

Headrests and armrests take the most hand and hair oil in the house and show it first. Cleaned by the code on the tag.

Dining chairs

Seats that catch every meal. Cleaned as a set, each seat checked for its code.

Ottomans and benches

Footrests, storage ottomans and the bench at the end of the bed, cleaned with the rest of the room.

Mattresses

Cleaned on the bed frame, spot-treated where accidents happened, and dry in about an hour so the bed can be made up tonight.

Honest about fabric

Most sofas clean up far better than people expect

A tired-looking sofa is usually just dirty, which is good news. Food spots and the darkened arms of a favorite chair lift with the method the tag allows, and a headrest shadow from hair oil fades a long way. When a stain can be coaxed out of fabric, we know how to coax it.

Some wear lives in the cloth itself: crushed velvet nap, sun fading, pilling, fabric worn thin. The technician points it out, along with any S or X code that limits the method, before the price goes on paper. Even a well-loved sofa ends the visit noticeably fresher.

Before the technician comes

Getting the room ready

Clear the cushions of blankets and throws, take the pet bed off the sofa, and have the tag handy if you have already found it. The technician does the rest in place. If a mattress is on the list, strip the bed before the van arrives; the sheets go back on once it is dry.

In-home visits run Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Book online, or call or text (205) 421-3993 and say which pieces, so the time is allowed for them.

Upholstery and mattress questions

What people ask before someone touches the good sofa.

Where is the cleaning code on my sofa, and what do the letters mean?

On a tag, usually under a seat cushion or stitched to the deck beneath it. W is for a water-based clean, S for a solvent clean with no water, WS for either one, and X for a vacuum and nothing wetter. The technician reads the tag before touching the piece and matches the method to the letter. If the tag is missing, the fabric is tested in a hidden spot first.

What happens if my chair is coded X?

X means the maker says vacuum only, and we take that seriously. The technician tells you at the door what can be done on that piece, which is sometimes a lighter clean and sometimes nothing beyond a thorough vacuum, and you decide. What we will not do is put a wet method on an X fabric to get a better-looking result today and a shrunk, water-marked cushion next week.

Can you clean a mattress that has had an accident on it?

Yes. Mattresses are cleaned where they lie, in the bedroom, with the same low-moisture method and a dry time of about an hour, so the bed can be made up the same evening. A urine accident on a mattress gets the spot treated at the source before the clean. Mention the mattress when you book, so the technician brings what the job needs and allows the time for it.

Does the sofa have to go outside or to your plant?

No. Furniture is cleaned in the room it lives in. Rugs leave the house because they need a full wash and a full dry; a sofa needs neither, and moving one does it more harm than the cleaning would. The technician works through the cushions, the arms, the back and the seat where the piece sits, and it is dry in about an hour.

Can the sofa be done on the same trip as the rugs and the carpet?

Yes, and it is the most sensible way to book it. One technician, one arrival, one written price for the rugs going out, the carpet in the room and the furniture on it. The rugs ride to the plant for their wash while the sofa and the carpet are cleaned in place, and the room is dry in about an hour.

How long until we can sit on the couch again?

About an hour. Very little water goes into the fabric with the low-moisture method, and the cushions are damp to the hand, not wet, when the technician leaves. Let the air get at them for that hour, with the cushions standing up if you like, and then sit down. There is no sticky residue to crush into the fabric, so sitting early does no harm beyond a damp seat.
