In Jonesboro, Roosevelt and Sand Ridge, the rug in the dining room often came from a parent or a grandparent. Wool, hand-knotted or woven on a loom, with a dining table on top and a story attached. Academy Drive to the McAdory side
Downtown, the established streets and the new side toward I-459
The van comes in on I-20/59 at Academy Drive and works the town from there: the single-family streets near downtown and DeBardeleben Park, Jonesboro, Roosevelt and Sand Ridge, Letson Farms and Morgan Woods, and the newer open-plan subdivisions out toward I-459 and the McAdory side. AL-150 connects the route to Hoover, and the 35022 side near Promenade Tannehill is shared with our McCalla run.
Rentals are part of the route too. A rug that stays with a house between tenants can be picked up while the place is empty, washed, and delivered back before the next lease starts, with the written price approved by text if the owner is not there.

Age changes how a rug is washed, not whether it can be. The dyes are tested at your door by the technician, because the reds and blues on a rug that has been down for a lifetime can move if they are handled carelessly, and notes thin spots, loose edges and old repairs before anything is decided. At the plant the dry soil comes out first, slowly, by dusting, and the wash is matched to wool: cool, thorough and rinsed completely, then a flat dry so the rug keeps its size.
The fringe gets its own wash so it returns the color it was meant to be. A fringe that is worn through, an edge that is unraveling or a hole from a moth can be repaired after the wash, when the rug is clean and the damage is plain to see; that work is quoted separately on our repair and restoration page.
Runners from a church or an office are mostly synthetic or wool blends, and those get a harder wash and a strong rinse, because they can take it and because the dirt in them is ground in deep.

Can you wash the runners from a church sanctuary and fellowship hall?
Yes. Church runners are some of the hardest-working rugs we see, and they wash well. The technician measures each one, writes a single price for the set, and takes them out on a day that keeps the sanctuary covered for Sunday; a church can send the hall runners one week and the sanctuary runners the next. They come back dusted, washed, rinsed and dried through, and the carpet in the sanctuary can be cleaned on the same visit.
My grandmother's rug has a worn spot and loose fringe. Should it still be washed?
Yes, and washing it first is the right order. The technician notes the worn spot, the loose fringe and any old repairs at your door, tests the dyes, and washes the rug gently at the plant. Once it is clean, the damage is easy to see and easy to quote, and fringe repair, edge binding and patching can be done before it comes home. A rug that is washed before it is repaired is a rug that is repaired properly.
Can an office have its waiting-room rug picked up outside the busy hours?
Pickups run Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM, so an office that would rather not have a rug rolled up in front of patients or clients can book the first slot of the morning or a Saturday. The technician puts a price on the rug at the door, takes it out, and brings it back the same way on a day you choose. Several runners and rugs can go on one trip, and the carpet or the chairs can be cleaned on the same stop.
My mother's rug from Jonesboro is rolled up in my garage. Can you still price it?
Yes. The technician will unroll it in the garage or the drive to check the fiber and the dye, measure it and write the price, because a rug has to be looked at flat before it is priced and before anything about the wash is decided. It takes a few minutes. If the rug has been rolled up for a long time, expect some creasing and maybe a smell; both come out in the wash and the flat dry.
What if a lodge runner is too far gone to wash?
