Alabaster has a deep selection of townhomes, condos and patio homes, and a lot of the people in them kept the rugs that mattered when they moved. A hand-knotted wool rug that has been in the family does not belong on a driveway with a hose, and it does not belong under a rental machine either.
It belongs at our plant, after a look at your door. First the technician reads the rug: knot or machine, wool or silk or something else, whether the dyes are fast, where the wear and the old repairs are. Then the tape, then the written figure. If you say yes, it leaves; if you say no, it stays and you owe nothing.
The same goes for the family-house rugs in Weatherly, Kentwood and Lake Forest, the stair runners, hallway runners and playroom rugs that take the kids and the dog every day. Collected, washed properly, dried through and brought back, usually inside 5 to 7 business days, with satisfaction guaranteed on every one.

Dry dusting opens every wash: the grit sitting in the foundation is driven out before the rug is wet. After that the fiber decides everything. A hand-knotted wool or Persian rug is washed in cool water, rinsed until it runs clear and dried flat, with its fringe cleaned separately and its dyes already tested at your door. Silk gets low water and no agitation.
The synthetic rugs from the playroom and the bedrooms take a harder wash and come back close to new. Cotton and jute are given a gentle wash and dried quickly. Any thin spot, loose edge or old repair is written down at pickup; fixing it is a separate job with its own quote after the wash, on our repair and restoration page.
A thorough rinse, then the rug is dried flat and completely before anyone touches a roll, and the last set of eyes checks pile, edges and fringe before it goes on the van. A pet accident is handled at the plant too: the urine salts are dissolved out of the foundation, under our 100% pet odor removal guarantee.

Beyond the rugs
Carpet and sofas, cleaned in place while the rugs are out
On the same visit the technician can see to the carpet and the stairs, the seating and the mattresses, all in the home, with very little water, no residue, and a floor that is dry in about an hour. The sofa's care code decides how the fabric is cleaned.
Clinics, offices and shops along the US-31 corridor book the same way. A lobby rug or a waiting-room runner is collected in business hours with a written price at the door, and the carpet can go on the same booking. The commercial page covers offices in more detail.
The price is the rug's size times one rate, and the rate does not move with what the rug is made of. Cleaning runs about one to two dollars a square foot on average, the heirloom wool and the playroom synthetic alike; a natural fiber earns a gentler wash, not a bigger number. The booking itself starts at $99. It is measured in front of you, written down, and that is what you pay.

Asked before the first rug goes out
I kept my mother's wool rugs when I moved to a condo. Are they worth washing?
Almost always, and the written price at your door tells you exactly what it would cost before you decide. A hand-knotted wool rug gets cool water, a full rinse and a flat dry, so it keeps its shape; fringe gets its own separate wash, and the dyes are tested first. Worn edges or a thin spot are pointed out at pickup, and a repair, priced on its own, can follow the wash.
Can a waiting room on the US-31 medical corridor get its rugs picked up without closing?
Yes. The pickup is quick: the rug is measured, priced in writing and rolled, and the room keeps working. Pickups run Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM, so an opening-time slot is an option. Put a spare mat down while it is gone, which is usually 5 to 7 business days. The carpet can be cleaned on the same booking.
Does a Maylene 35114 address in south Alabaster get the same pickup?
Yes. Southern Alabaster carries the Maylene post office ZIP, and the van runs it the same as 35007: Sterling Gate, Cedar Grove, High Grove and the streets around them. Do you put a protective treatment on the rug after the wash?
If you want one, yes. Fiber protection goes on at the end, on a clean, dry rug, and it makes the next spill sit on the surface long enough to blot instead of soaking in. It suits a rug going into a room with small children or a dog. Ask for it at pickup and it goes on the written price with the wash.
What happens if the technician finds a problem with the rug at my door?
You hear about it before anything is decided. Dye that may run, a bleach mark, moth damage, dry rot in the foundation, fringe worn through: each is pointed out at the door, and the technician spells out what a wash can do about it and what it cannot. Many of them can be fixed once the rug is clean, with their own quote. You choose knowing all of it, and nothing leaves until you say so.
